Smart Energy GB responds to uSwitch research on energy bill debt

Responding to uSwitch research "Households owe £400 million to energy suppliers before winter begins", Robert Cheesewright, Director of Corporate Affairs at Smart Energy GB, said:

"With a smart meter you can easily avoid being in arrears with your energy supplier. Smart meters enable you to track your energy spend in near real time, and will send automatic readings to your supplier so you won't receive a shock bill.

"Independent research shows that more than 8 in 10 people with a smart meter feel they have a better idea of their energy costs. So, if you want to avoid getting into energy debt, contact your energy supplier about a smart meter."
